Hillcrest Cemetery in Weyburn, Saskatchewan
History of Hillside Cemetery
Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Canada
Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery was established in 1926, replacing Horne Cemetery, by the City of Weyburn, Saskatchewan. It is located south of Weyburn, along the Provincial Highway #35. The cemetery consists of remembered loved ones, primarily former residents of Weyburn, and the old area of the graveyard rests historical figures who have built Weyburn, who can be found in names such as Mitchell, Eaglesham, and Moffet. The Veteran’s section of the cemetery is a tribute to those who have given their lives while training at the Weyburn Air Training School. The City of Weyburn recommends annual cleaning of loved ones’ headstones to prevent damage.
